Game Not Responding

Apologies if this has been discussed before. I did search but could not find an answer.

I have been using SH5 for about 3 weeks, modded with The Dark Wraith's UIs, without any problem.

Two days ago when I tried to acces the Captain's Log the programme froze. This happens with both the Captain's Log icon and through the Soundman icon

I tried removing the mod but without success.

Yesterday I decided to try a re-install. Tested it without the mod and it worked successfully. Modded it with UI TDC_3_9_3 and the same problem - it does not respond when you try to access the Captain's Log.

I removed the mod but it still does not respond if I try to use the Captain's log button

I would appreciate advice and suggestions on how to correct this error.

since both of you have this issue lets find a common link you both have that could point to a cause


have you checked with TDW for any info if this might be an issue with his mod that he has a solution for?

have you added or removed any programs on your computer? no virus alerts?

have you added or removed any mods to the game? (even if you didnt install them)

no matter the actual cause of this, sometimes you can get corrupted saved games that are just screwed and the solution is you will have to restart from a previous save point or unfortunately restart your whole career

I have not made any changes to my computer, had any virus alerts or loaded any other mods.


I have tried an earlier save and that works so I am beginning to think that this is a case of a corrupt saved game.

After posting my original question I did find the same problem referred to on the Ubisoft Forum by two people - without any solution suggested.

hmm tried putting in TDW new UI and the game kept CTD, installed mods one by one and the game would only run on a new campaign but in the middle of the screen was a big box with shooting tips with two rectangles above this empty and the ui interface screwed up.'
going to reformat the puter reload the game then update and reload mods and see if that helps any.

That's a sign of not patched to v1.2 of the game.
