I like to think of myself as being pretty tolerant. To each his own. Different strokes for different folks. Whatever floats your boat. ect..

Rules in the competition require the sauna to be heated to 110 C (230 F). Water is added to the stove every 30 seconds and the last person to remain in the sauna wins.

But, in all honesty, I have to say: This is a stupid contest. :yep:

Do these people not realize that at those temperatures, the appearance of the signs of distress may lag behind the rapidly escalating physiological problem?

just have them trained not to attacks dogs, I would survive a tiger attack but my poor old dog wouldnt

I guess one of the questions is: Is it morally acceptable for a society to prevent the stupid people from voluntarily killing themselves?

Is not society better off if people ,who would go in to a 110C sauna to see how can last the longest, were to die before breeding?

Perhaps our society should encourage such "competitions" in the greater best interest of the society?

no negative consequences to OTHERS... that's the important part
by letting them have these competitons we make sure they do onto themselves before they do onto others

In South East Asia our politicians are more than enough . . . . .predators. At the rate of their regress perhaps we could expect them to kill each others within 50 years to come. We don't need other predators. Men regression coupled with boundless stupidity would certainly be more than enough. As what Gandhi said about knowledge without character . . . .

You would be surprised how common it is to heat the sauna to 110-120°C over here. It is the water that is poured onto the rocks every 30sec that heats the sauna way over the 110°C temperature in the competition. Think of it like sunny weather, it might be 30°C in shadow, but once you go out into the sun it feels like 50°C, only in case of sauna it's the steam that gets you.
