Even after 75 years the seperation which was the Democrats of the south, which didn't change until the 1970s (110 years later) ,when Democrats started to shift to the left.
Remember Lincoln, a Republican, waged war on the Democrats of the south.
The map explains Roosevelt's four terms.
*takes what he knows of US history pre-1940s, tears it up into little bits and throws it in the recycling bin*
I honestly did not know that the South were the Democrats... :o

Now you know why Robert Bird D-WV(deceased) was elected to the US Senate with his obvious extreme racist views.

Very old news. Utah has been solidly Republican for many decades now.
Remember Lincoln, a Republican, waged war on the Democrats of the south.
Why do you feel a need to bring that up yet again? What does it have to the organization of the states by party?

Because that is what the map shows. In fact the Republicans had lost WV and Kentucky by 1940.
Remember WV originated during the civil war in 1863, because it supported the Union/republican movement.
Why do you, Sailor Steve, question my motives? This is history, for which I thought you an aficianado, this isn't new stuff. It isn't being taught perhaps, but I thought you would be thankful I am posting .

Then you should look at the US Civil War more closely. I can lead you to water, but I cannot make you drink.
