Hello all
Does somebody know why my crew is "disobedient"?:damn:
I mean when I give them an order like silent running the officer tells me "cannot comply" or "no captain".:damn::damn:

Not with silent running. That works.

Only my Chief Engineer is sometimes disobedient! :D

It seems that the morale of your crew is way down and they're being insubordinate. I believe this morale "bug" was fixed in the 1.2 patch from Ubi. If you have this patch, you should consider downloading this mod: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom//downloads.php?do=file&id=1568, which forces the crew to obey, despite how unhappy they may be. :salute:

Yes, the patch changed the crew's behavior regarding low morale. You definitely need to upgrade your version of the game. I don't know about players who got their game via Steam, but with my purchased DVD version of SH5, the latest patch (1.2) automatically downloaded the first time I loaded the game after the patch was released. Check the official Ubisoft SH5 site for information regarding the patch.

Best of luck! :salute:

Mmmm, yeah it is a buggy game. I hope better for future times!

My watch crew said "Ship spotted" ... I was 30 meters submerged? And no ship in the nearby location!

And I hear the tanks blowing all the time for some reason. And my chief says "recharging batteries" when I order flank bell.

When you click on the crewman, up pops a list of possible orders. Next to each order is a small dot, 2,3,4 etc...

They indicate how much morale that order requires. So if they have a morale of one dot, but the order requires 3 dots, they will refuse.

When you start on a mission morale is high.

Very soon... morale falls. But, as long as the cook has some active skills in cooking, you can run to him, ask him to please make a special meal, then run to the crewman you want to order to do something. As long as the cook agreed to make the meal, you should see an increase in the crewmans morale.

It is well known that the British were eventually able to turn the tide of the war against u-boats because the u-boat captain spent to much time asking their cook to prepare special meals. Otherwise, crew members would often refuse to act. :-)

It is well worth using any initial promotion points to build up the cook, so he can prepare the special meals.

Some people simply shut off the morale system with a mod. How unrealistic. Do you think real u-boat captains could simply inject their crew with "miracle morale boost" and then be able to command without asking the cook to pretty please cook a nice meal????

Ok , the first thing you need to do is download no magic skills 1.5 and install while in base .

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=164996&highlight=no+magic+skills

The next thing to do is go to the cook and enable the meal ability .

Also talk to your crew often . Just think of it as not only special meal but they also carried fresh fruit such as lemons as well given out as a morale boost .
