It seems like someone tried to kill Ahmadinejad by throwing a grenade at him. http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/08/04/iran.attempted.attack/index.html?hpt=T1#fbid=llBGVXh8UNV

As much as I would personally wish that this guy died, the rise of tensions would be unpredictable. Iran would probably blame the USA or Israel and the result could be dangerous like a 2nd Sarajevo 1914.

...and Iranian media moves immediately to deny all reports of it. Nothing happned, move along folks!

Gotta love these totalitarian states :damn:

Wonder if it has anything to do with Nutjob recently stating he wants to meet with Obama 'face to face'.

Do we have any confirmation that it was an assassination attempt?

There is a considerable difference between a "fire cracker" and a grenade.

Like most things that happen in Iran, we will probably never know the truth.

I love looking for stuff on that. Granted I don't get much out of it. But it's still fun. :DL

But some privacy advocates say the use of Google Earth to find scofflaw swimming pools reeks of Big Brother. Ok so option B is the local municipality flies an aircraft over the area and takes photos. And to help cover the cost of this they decide to raise taxes. :yeah:

As for Ahmadinejad, he's not the one to kill, he's merely a pawn of the Ayatollah. And that is the one to assassinate.:yep:

edit: @ TLAM are those what I think they are?

Everyone loves tax increases. :yep:

Second paragraph: I was thinking the same thing. If it was an attempt it should have been coordinated with additional attacks on the hierarchy. Bring the entire structure down, not just a piece of it.

And that is the one to assassinate.:yep: The Ayatollah is not like Kim Jong Ill or Saddam where he is the total 100% dude in charge. There are Religious Experts who decide who the next Ayatollah is. They can chose another guy to lead. They chose a new one before and maybe choosing another soon again (Ali Khamenei is 71)

Do you think those are two or three Wet Subs, a possible Nahong and a Pakistani COSMOS designed sub?

I'll go with that; I don't have the knowledge. Is that an open air museum? :)

I think its a training facility of some sort. Interestingly one of their major ship yards is near by (North) and that area is also the site of their nuclear reactor (to the south).

Could be a Museum but I see no "Naval Museum" listed for that city.

There are also some Small Craft, a Hovercraft and a Dhow. Makes me think IRGCN.
