Well Thank you. I made the skin myself. Rockin Robbins supplied me with the Capt. Cox shark mouth but everything else is original. SS496 is a fictional boat. I used Gimp, Nero photo snap viewer, and most importantly Skwas' 3ditor to pull the UV maps from the models and superimpose them over the texture files. It's the most important part because many of the items in the 3d modeling pull textures from the same place on the texture file. This way when coloring one area you don't get unexpected coloring in another area.

Great skin !!! Please release it as a mod for all of us that are "Mod Challenged".

Sure i'll release it. But i don't know how. If you would tell me how to do it, I will. I have a salmon class boat as well (the Skipjack with a very mean looking tuna on the conning tower). It's good, but, not as good as 496. I'm also working on another Balao class the USS Thetis (fictional).

Well, I know diddly-squat about modding but, you could try inspecting other's skin packs, to see how others have managed them (for JSGME) and then .zip or .rar it all up with a read-me file and send it off.;)

as far as the skin working with JSGME, you just throw it in the mods file and it works just fine. my question is: where would i upload it so others could D/L it?

Upload it at subsim, ask SailorSteve about getting a modman account. If you want something not as reliable, use filefront, which has the occasional fit and won't let you upload or download things.

It might be a good idea to make it JSGME compatible, or get ready to answer lots of questions :DL.
