Not impressed.

They will still receive the goods either from North Korea or though the Gulf States and shipped across the gulf in a Dhow.

Story,

EU foreign ministers have adopted tougher sanctions targeting Iran's energy sector, in an effort to block its controversial nuclear programme.

Both the sanction list as well as the security mechanisms to "enforce" :har: them are as tigth as a wire mesh fence. Not worth to enoble these "sanctions":haha: by paying any attention to them - as if they would mean something.:woot: It even is legal to deliver most weapons and military equipement to Iran - that alone already tells me everything I need to know about the determination behind sanctions.

Now consider criminal energy of wetsern companies in smuggling forbidden items and undermining the "sanctions", consider the fact that all Golf states run not only formal but also private small trade navel traffic with Iran, consider that Russia first supported the sanction, and then one day later already started to soften them up in terminology and in general is interested in not putting it'S business ties with Iran on military goods and nuclear technology at risk, consider that erdoghan's turkey has become an open supporter of Iran and it'S ambitions, and consider the nature of the terrain of their shared border (I know that a bit myself). When you have considered it all, get a drink and start laughing. :yeah:

When is Israel going to be hit with sanctions for their nukes?

There is only onr nuclear power in the region, with the ability to hit Europe.
Guess who it is.
Guess who paid for it.

Prove they have them... :03:

Unless they admit to having them or test one (perhaps over Tehran) we don't know.

... and that's how they like it...

I may not agree with everything Israel does but I got to admit that's smart...

even the Arabs have realised that Israel's ambitions are much, much smaller and regionally limited to it's own country, while the ambitions of Iran are not. And that si why the Arabs since long have arranged themselves with the Israeli nukes, knowing they do not pose an aggressive threat to them. The Saudis know and the Egyptians know that they must not fear that Israel would try to topple their regimes.

With nuclear Persia, all that would be a different assessment.

Everybody knows that Iran is a much greater threat to the whole region, than Israel. Israel'S agenda is to survive right in place. Iran's agenda is to dominate the whole region and to kick back the Shia, especially the Saudis and ntheir control of the holy cities. They all might hate Jews and make a lot of prolly comments here and there about Israel, but even Saudi Arabia knows that Israel does not try to aggressively expand it'S teritory and influence - that may be the reason why there are extremely strong indications that they have signed deals with Israel that would allow the Israeli air force to fly through Saudi airspace if Israel would attack Iran.

Not to make fun of Canada, but what does Canada do if Iran threatens back? (meaning Canada directly)

Does Canada have the will to stand up to these chumps or will they back down?

Just for arguments sake, what happens if there is a terror bombing in Canada with Iranian fingerprints on them? What is Canada's next step?

1. Back down
2. run to UN in tears
3. Whoop ass

Tehran, Iran (CNN) -- Iran was defiant Tuesday after the European Union approved new sanctions against the country, saying the measures are "ineffective and unconstructive."

The sanctions are "punitive measures" and "a hostile move against Iran," said Ramin Mehman-Parast, a spokesman for Iran's Foreign Affairs Ministry.
