If you would impregnate cardboard with epoxy or poliester resin it wouldnt get wet... if the cardboard would survive the impregnation ;)

They hold a similar regatta in Rexburg or... uh, one of the R towns. The boats must be made from cardboard milk cartons, though. :DL
