Ran accross this curious story this morning, never heard of such a thing.

Kids these days :yep:

They put on their headphones, drape a hood over their head and drift off into the world of ‘digital highs’.

Videos posted on YouTube show a young girl freaking out and leaping up in fear, a teenager shaking violently and a young boy in extreme distress.

Some of the comments are good:

When I started I-Dosing a year ago it was just for fun. I had an otherwise normal life. Fast forward to now... I've been layed off, I lost my car, and I I-Dose every chance I can get. To pay for my fix I rob unlocked cars and a couple of times prostituted myself, just for the iTunes money. I'm probably losing my apartment soon, but I don't care, all I need is my iPod and my headphones. Can't wait to iDose again...

I was at a local basketball court in Philadelphia and some friends and I were playing a game. A couple of guys came down the street and they were listening to headphones. They were talking crazy and started fighting. Turns out, they were "dosing." My mom was so upset she sent me to live with my aunt and uncle here in California.

Is this all so special? Under the right circumstances, the right song can have similar influences on me. I've known that for a long time now.

Best feeling ever, pretty much like the feeling you get when you're with good friends and you're just pouring in an endless supply of beer:DL (not drunkenness itself, as you obviously don't get drunk from listening to music, but that feeling nonetheless) There isn't any specific way of getting that feeling though, there's no way of telling how, when and why I get it:hmmm: 99% of the times I listen to Metal I don't get it, but then there's that 1%...

I don't go put anything over my head though, generally I just start headbanging at full speed and grab the nearest bottle of whiskey:)

Sounds like a bunch of teenagers trying to draw attention to themselves.

If this is referring to the actual 'iDoser' then it isn't music, it's sound played at specific frequencies meant to induce various effects. I once tried it, like hell it worked though lol...

Maybe you're too old to hear the frequencies :O:

Thats normal for teenagers, but this is just plain weird. I think were all too old to get this latest "craze"

But hell, I'm not exactly a member of the mainstream youth culture so that might make a difference:)

I may be going out on a limb here, but for some reason I think the daily fail is exaggerating things

You and me both. It sounded so stupid at first I thought it was a joke.

As an experiment, I decided to try it less than an hour ago. I lay upon my bed with my roommate's ipod and a relaxing warm towel over my entire face, and listened to various tracks. After several minutes, I did indeed experience something; the feeling of being a complete idiot. Thank God nobody was around to see me doing that.

Then again, I probably wasn't the best test subject for a number of reasons, one of which is above.

Well if nothing else it should be relatively harmless in the long term as opposed to some other 'escapes'.

Oh those crazy kids with their rock and roll.....:DI know this is just a joke, but I cannot simply stand by without defending rock here.
I simply can't imagine any true self-respecting rock lover getting involved with this. The evil here is rather coming from the more popular genres, pop, dance, rap and stuff.

I listen to all types of music, and I tried this iDoser stuff

I really didn't notice anything, I tried "A-bomb" totally unsure of it's effects, and all I got out of it was the feeling of falling.
I tried viagra, because apparently a few friends did and the effect (which is probably too obvious) felt real for them.
I didn't get anything but the feeling my head (the one mounted on my shoulders, thank you) was going to explode.

I can partially believe what it can do, but perhaps my intelligence (which is shown to be above average) isn't letting it penetrate into my subconscious like it has with my friends.

lol, I didn't even get any of that, even after using the 'Condition' dose :shifty:
