This firewall not the antivirus just the pathetic FW. Seriously last couple of days i couldn't figure out why all the lagg in games, Battlefield 2 from 60 ping to 250+ overnight couldn't join any aussie server as i would get auto kicked cause limit is 200ping, I was shattered! lol
With WoW it would just disconnect after 5min & im not even moving round ingame. I blamed my ISP where i rang them to ask whats the problem they tell me everything's fine at their end, meanwhile the red light on my pc is going continuously everytime im online, off line and it stops. Uninstalled Comodo firewall and just like that everything back to normal.
Another thing i would get BSOD and lockups every couple of min in windows where i thought my gfx card was on its way out I was at the point of replacing it then i thought well I'll trying uninstalling the firewall and that solved it. back to normal ping, no red light going nuts.
Comodo FW was running fine then all a sudden it went crazy. latest release.
Back to Windows FW & comodo antivirus only.

using comodo myself. no problems here. as long as this problem does not get wide agreement by people, it think it is a system/installation-depending issue. I once ran into compatability issues that resulted from mutual interferences of Avira antiVir and Spybot S&D. It is known today that these programs both are very fine code each for themselves. Just when they run together they sometimes can cause problems.

That Avira is rated on par with some paid versions, it has the best detection out of the popular free versions Avast, Comodo and AVG. There is one annoying thing about the free Avira is that popup window which free users have to put up with.
This is how to get rid of it for good. The workaround is for vers 9 but it works for 10
http://tipsfor.us/2009/03/18/avira-antivir-updates-to-version-9-make-it-more-usable/
Windows XP Professional
1. Go to Start ’ Run, and type secpol.msc
2. Click on Software Restriction Policy ’ go to Action (at the top) ’ Create New Restriction Policies
3. Right-click on Additional Rules (on the right) ’ Choose New Path Rule
4. Click Browse and find the avnotify.exe file (C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Destop\avnotify.exe)
5. Make sure the security level is set to Disallowed and click OK
Done.
Windows Vista
Browse to the Avira program directory (C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Destop).
Right-click on avnotify.exe. Go to Properties.
In the window that appears, click the Security tab. Then hit Edit.
In the Permissions window, browse through all the Users. Next to Read & Execute, click Deny for each User. Click OK as many times as necessary.
Open a cold one. Since avnotify.exe can no longer execute, no more ads will spawn.
Windows XP Home (and Media Center)
Boot into Safe Mode (repeatedly press F8 after boot)
Login under the Administrator account
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\avnotify.exe
Right-click avnotify – Go to Properties – Security – Advanced
Look under the Permissions folder for a listing of all the system users. Do the following for all the users:
Edit – Traverse Folder / Execute File – Deny – Click OK
Reboot (into Normal mode) when finished

Umm yea I guess it has the propensity to go haywire.
Using CIS myself. Having BSOD and crashes but it's been a quiet two weeks. Not sure what caused it.
It could be that your CIS was corrupted. Did you run the CIS diagnostics?
I'm actually quite disappointed by the latest version.
Many apps are able to connect to the internet without my consent. Suddenly they were there in the allowed list but the file itself is gone.:-? I've checked out trusting COMODO trusted vendor.
Umm not much of a security I just noticed the CIS was closed. . . . . . .I'm beginning it's a bogus app designed to create hole in user computer system after version 4.0

No i just wanted it off my PC. :) The BSOD is the firewall im sure this thing is still a beta, every Comodo FW ends up the same for me. The antivirus is okay just avoid the fw I wouldn't be surprised if thje FW is the cause of some of your problems you been getting.

My internet connection problem has now come back to taunt me. Thinking to get rid COMODO CIS myself.
Frank I'd suggest you to try agnitum free firewall(google agnitum free firewall) and use it with Avira. That's what I would do.
It occured to me that CIS might be responsible for the crashes but I admit I'm sort of addicted to CIS. Kind of hard to let it go. But I may be feeling brave soon and want to see whether my connection problem is due to CIS once and for all.

Outpost  I have that free version but not installed, the free version never gets updated, but that's not the reason why I never installed it I just forgot all about it till now you mention it. I suppose it is better than having windows FW. Might get round to installing outpost.
If CIS works well for you then no point in changing, though cause of your crashes I would uninstall it wait a few days see what happens if the crashes still happen then at least you know it ain't Comodo causing it.

There has been no crashes for 3 weeks or so :hmmm: so I don't think it was CIS.
Though I thnk it is CIS that makes my PC to load too slow or a malware trying to load and avoid the defense+ of CIS

You know what it's confirmed that it was CIS that caused the poor internet speed and very long loading time(CIS diagnostics reported no error)
Now I have great speed even at night. Seeing the speed going to 180+kB/s when streaming youtube and in some videos stay that fast feels like a kind of perversion oh the guilt.

2 days into using different firewall and the internet is now back to slow again. I'm sure it's being capped somehow.:damn:

Well im stumped. Read your post about CIS and was gonna say see I told ya so, but now you say its still going slow even from other protection apps. Maybe another full scan is needed you might have a trogan/malware that is not being detected.:hmmm:
