They are there to assist with the backlog and paperwork of the Border Patrol. That will have FAR greater effect because the officers of it will now have far more time to get out there and attempt to secure the border.

As corrupt as USA's government ("both sides of the aisle") seems to be on this issue, they'll probably employ the troops with handing out amnesty information packets, and constructing guide signs ("for safety").

Hell, last i heard, in California we were going to start offering them drivers licenses. :haha:
Lets see 1200 divided into three shifts spread over approximately 2000 miles so each person would have to watch about 5 miles.
