Normally I'm getting 60fps, but when there was an air raid on my base it went down to 30fps. Is this normal for these specs:
HD5850 1GB, 775mhz clock speed, 1000mhz Memory clock speed.
3.4GHz 965 X4
4GB RAM
HDD 5.9 subscore rated by windows.
Why can I only get 60Fps ?
P.S. 16km view is enabled.

yes I do realize that, but I was asking whether my FPS rate matched my system specs. Whats the maximum Fps rate possible in GWX 3 ?

Your fps look about right considering your system specs....and are certainly better than mine.

you probably have vsync turned on, that will have locked your fps to your monitor`s refresh rate (usually 60Hz so 60fps), turning vsync off will allow you to hit your max fps for your system. +A harbor raid in gwx is about the most stressful thing sh3/gwx can subject your gfx card to so a drop in framerate is no surprise.

wow, with vsync turned off I can get 100FPS TO 200FPS. What does vsync actually do ? When its off I can't notice much difference in graphics.

Vsync locks the frame rate to your monitor rate. It is useful when you have tearing of your picture; other than this, it apparently has no use.
If the frame rate is too high, your computer and graphic card have to work hard and might overheat, so slowing the rate down might help this problem also.
