If you haven't already tried Nigeis' Radar and TDC mod it is amazing.

I am currently running it with TMO 1.5 and it works great. I have prepared a short tutorial on using the radar to establish a contact's initial position, course and track here...

Soon I will be adding how to get an initial firing solution using radar and the 3-D clickable TDC (as soon as I stop having fun sinking things without map contacts on).
The beauty is that this moves SH4 from being just an attack simulator to a much more accurate radar simulator, plot simulator and TDC simulator.
In the words of the old commercial..."Try it... you'll like it!

Wow, this will take some time to get through my brain, but it appears to be well worth the effort. This is good stuffage.

No doubt one of the best mods ever made. You can now play with contacts off and have decent tools to track with. I played a few patrols with it and loved it, just hope we'll get a version that works with TMO and keep all the eye candy if one hasn't been made yet.
I'll use it my next career regardless.

I've never thought of SH3 or SH4 as just attack simulators. I had that with SH1 (and it had pretty good radar as well). I've always used them as Campaign and Career simulators.
But you're right - this is wicked cool!
I tried the mod with TMO2.0 but it messed with the camera controls so much that I threw it out again for now.
Would be great if that worked better.

Easily fixable :DL
Just delete the cameras DAT from - 3D TDC and Range Unit/Data/Library
before you enable the mod.
And there you go, you now have TMO's camera.
As far as I can tell (Nisgeis please correct me if I'm wrong), the cameras dat is just to enable you to rotate the camera so you can view the whole radar console and the bearing indicator above you. (Don't think the camera is set up quite right for this in stock).
However, you can already do this in TMO 2.0. so it's not needed.
I've just got the Radar mod working in TMO, so I'm off to the training thread to figure out how it works.
EDIT: I just got it working in WDAD too

That's right, the stock camera won't let you look up far enough to see the radar train bearing indicator, so you can't see where your radar is pointed. The cameras in TMO are much better. As well as deleting cameras.dat, also remove the 3D TDC and Range Unit/Data/Menu folder as well to preserve the TMO small size map tools and chrono.
Hope you enjoy it.

Has this been tested with RFB?

Thanks, could have thought of that myself. I will try it right now ;)

I am not sure I understand this. Are you saying that the mod can be made compatible with TMO2.0 by simply making these simple alterations without loosing any function of either mod?
If so, A TMO2.0 version should be made and released to assist those of us who are computer challenged.

My understanding is that he is working on this (as well as a number of other enhancements).

I'm interested to see what you come up with for the TDC training part. :hmmm: I'm not sure how I'd go about it, so I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Update:
I am working on the TDC part of the tutorial. I don't want to frig with you guys, but once the bulb comes on and you get it working it is amazing.
Suffice it to say i just got a perfect kill... 5 torps all hitting exactly where they should have without even doing a plot. Only using the radar and TDC to adjust your position and speed to put yourself in firing position.
The poor SOB never even suspected I was there because I had a perfect solution running and then submerged before he even came into sight! Never even had to put up the scope!
Be patient with me so I can get this done right. Trust me... it's worth the wait!
