View Full Version : Any mods to make depth charges drop deeper?

I am well into the war, but I can simply dive 100 meters and the depth charges never reach me. I can even drive around at flank speed. The destroyers will chase me if I do, but the depth charges simply don't reach me.

I know this has been discussed already and that a number of AI improvement mods have been put forth. But they all seem to work on the aggressiveness of the destroyers and not on the simple act of getting depth charges deeper. This, too, has been discussed in other threads. In one of those threads it was said that the reason the depth charges depth has not been moded to date is because the failing parts are part of the hard coded binary.

In the SH4 world, Nicolas developed a stand alone utility (executable) that would intercept certain memory addresses and alter them of the running program, yet not change the actual binary executable.

While he was working on a different problem then the one we have in SH5, I wonder if the same approach might work - assuming some bright modder knew where to look. Maybe we can buy Nicolas SH5 to entice him into working his magic on that problem!
