Just finally getting around to installing all the mods and so forth for Silent Hunter III after a year or so of playing on and off. Would have liked to pick up SH 4 and 5, but my system doesn't have the juice to run them. So I will keep on with this for now.
Cheers.

If you have the money and are a subsim fan, I'd advise buying the SH4 & 5 even though you don't have the cpu to run them yet. You will.
Those products will vanish from store shelves and be hard to find. Personally, I hate to buy just a downloaded game. I like to have the package in my hand.
There may never be another UBI sub game, so they are souvenirs of happy times.

I only picked up 3 about a year ago. I had 2 for years, and decided to look in bargain boxes. Pretty stoked to find 3 there.
I am definitely a box in hand sort of guy myself. Especially when it comes to something with hours, years worth of value.
I still play the old Jane's Fleet Command as well as a few others. I was pretty stoked there too when I managed to get it running on Vista.

I would simply advise buying them second-hand, well 4 at least - I don't know about 5 and it's DRM. I can't see them disappearing just yet so prices will fall and eventually level out in the bargain basements.
I'd also advise improving your rig, even playing SH3 - loading times for my old p4 2.66 with 1.5 ram and 256Mb AGP was around 9 - 13 minutes, now with dual-core 2.93 with 4 Gig ram and 1 Gig GTS250 it's down to about a minute.
Finally, welcome aboard :salute:

I've got a Turion 64x2 with 4 gig but its a laptop with an ATIx1270 128mb. Load times aren't bad but the frame rate gets choppy. Really should have gone with something a little better but I picked up the unit at Big Lots of all places on clearance, lol.
And thanks again for the welcome folks! :|\\
