Surprised no-one posted this but Saturday was the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Ah, well. :salute: either way.
Today is the anniversary of the Battle of Prokhorovka and Operation Kutuzov though, arguably one of the most important turning points of World War II.
EDIT: Ah, saturday. Right.

Thanks to them brave chaps Britain could stay in the war and made the liberation of Europe a possibility.

Nice piece, the Hurri was the unsung hero of the BOB. A superb kite that would bring you home even if she looked more like a sieve than an aircraft. :yep:

Yeah, thought he meant today was as usually these threads are made on the actual date, then I looked again and edited my post to reflect my original lack of reading of the original post.
