In another development, Friday brought news of the death of Sergei Tretyakov, once Russia's top spy. He defected to the United States ten years ago. His wife and a friend said he died at his home in Florida on June thirteenth. They did not give the cause of death. Sergei Tretyakov was fifty-three years old.

June 11th President Barack Obama briefed on the matter in the Oval Office. He was told about plans for the arrests, how they would occur, what the Russians would be charged with and the possible impact of the case on U.S.-Russian relations, the official said.

June 13th Sergeli Tretyakov Russians top defected spy dies of unknown causes

June 24th President Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ate hamburgers at a restaurant near Washington.

June 28th Ten spies captured New York, New Jersey, Maryland

July 8th 10 spies exchanged with Russia for four Russian spies

Seems odd that's all

Ought oh! The other shoe is fixing to drop ... :salute:

How can anyone explain a spy swap before the spy swap was even caught?

In fact, the Associated Press has reported the Obama administration began thinking about a possible spy swap (http://www.wtop.com/?nid=116&sid=1998627) before the arrests and Tretyakov's death.

U.S. intelligence authorities have not responded to inquiries about Tretyakov's life in the U.S. and his death.

geetrue,

I think you are putting too much credibility on to the press who almost guaranteed do not have the full story. :nope:

History has proven that men and many women, including one ex-wife, have to get caught lying before the truth can be revealed.

The time line spells someone besides the white house knew what was going on.

Leaks sinks ships :yep:

Your right about credibility though ... someone has to tell the truth for that to happen.

Seems odd that's all  Might get odder our old friend the MV Arctic Sea was lurking off Cyprus when that one spy who jumped bail was there and reportedly vanished.

Thought you were jesting, another oddity: (from above article)

There’s a theory going around some maritime circles that Metsos left the island, put to sea and rendezvoused with a certain ship that passed very close to Cyprus.

And what do you suppose is the name of the vessel? Why, it is the Russian mystery ship: none other than MV ARCTIC SEA.

As the man above says, "It's just a theory"

It's just frustrating for the truth to be so slow ...
