I saved the game right in the middle of attacking a bunch of ships that were docked. I had struck 4 ships and they were damaged and on fire, but none were sunk. I later reloaded the game and I am out of torpedoes...but the ships are all in perfect shape with all hit points and not on fire! What gives?!

That is a known and, as yet, unfixed bug. :damn: SH5 does not save every piece of information about your current situation. The Rule of Thumb is to avoid saving when in sight of other ships or land. Of course, if the state of the other ships or land area is unchanged, this rule does not matter. If there is an in-game save during a battle or chase, be sure to create your own save file after everything is properly ended. :salute:

This is a known issue. Saved games do not include ships' damage states, so you should not attack unless you have time to finish the job. If you are short on time save BEFORE you attack and come back to it later.
Edit: Heh, great minds think alike, Voss!

This is a "feature" that's been in the series since SH3 at least. :woot:

Try not to save within 50km of anything that is rendered by the game engine on start up....this is what you have witnessed.

The point of savegame is - to save some interesting situation or achievement
This is probably the first case in history of PC gaming that you should save a game with nothing 50km arround...
* * *
But the main point is that you don't occupy your HD space with savegames... as Ubi put it...:rotfl2:
