I generally won't take pills. Other than Tums, the only medications I can remember taking since I was very young were all administered during surgeries and post-op. I try to put the burden of all maladies directly on my body so that it may better deal with whatever crap I feel like putting it through at a given time, save a small exception for dentistry.

That lead to my kidney stone so be careful with that. Now I only drink sprite, water, and all the citrus drinks I can down. Lemonade, limeade, orange juice, V8, etc.
Caffeine leads to kidney stones apparently. Coffee is the biggest culprit. Sweat Tea is second and caffeinated soda is third. After one kidney stone, I'm not going through that again. :nope:

I thought this thread was about medicinal drugs, not just drugs in general. In that case, I reverse my earlier statement. I abuse tobacco and alchohol with reckless abandon, and I don't care who knows it. My body, my rules.
Regularly:
Caffeine
Nicotine
Citalopram (started 3 months ago, seems to be working)
Citalopram hydrobromide? Best wishes, man:salute:

I thought this thread was about medicinal drugs, not just drugs in general.I think it originally was, but then someone started posting about alcohol, caffeine and tobacco, and ever since it hasn't been about much else:O:
Anyway, there's nothing specified in the thread title so both kinds of drugs are on topic:D
multi-vitamins + minerals
vitamin c supplement
cod liver oil/omega 3 stuff
glucosamine & chondroitin
the occasional paracetamol; when I have a cold, or a really bad headache that is just too much to tolerate.
Tea several times a day.
Alcohol, perhaps several times a week.
Tobacco, several times a week (of all, this is the one I enjoy the most, but feel the worst about doing - damn anti-smoking propaganda).
anything illicit? 99% of the things I indulged in as a youth... not for over a decade now. Don't really see the need for things as part of a good night out any more. I'm not sure if this is as a result of a change of lifestyle in general as you get older, or because I simply don't think my body would be able to cope with all of that for a second time around :-? :DL Whichever...
'Suppose I should be glad I have no medical imperative that needs the proscribing of drugs.
EDIT: whoever it was who mentioned Citalopram... I also would like to offer best wishes and good luck with that. :yep:
For two reasons, I guess: For the reason it was given in the first place (that's always a hard place to start from) and for what it can do to people (side effects and dependency and withdrawal, none of which are pleasant to see in someone else, let alone experience for yourself... depends on the individual, but what I have experience of was not at all good).

Does that fish oil stuff really work? I've always wondered about this. I tried some a long time ago but it just left a fishy taste in my mouth and gave me the runs!
^^
seems that my joints don't crack and pop as much as they used to - especially in my hands (playing guitar sometimes made this a problem) and my knees.
I damaged something in my right knee whilst doing lots of hiking and backpacking training about 18 months ago. The fish oil and the glucosamine & chondroitin are what I take for that, good for joint movement and cartilage wear. Much of the pain in my knee when out and about walking etc had subsided, in part due to a little bit of self imposed physio on the joint and due to the beneficial nature of the supplement on the working of the joint itself.
Vyvanse, Ritalin, and some sort of Amphetamine. All for ADD

In our house, we don't count birthdays any more, we count med bottles in the night table. :O:
Just a public service announcement.
How many people who take multiple drugs per day, have all their meds on a card in their wallet/purse?
If you take a lot of meds, make a list and keep it with you. When you go to the ER, it sure saves time.

Your scarying me man! Actually its got nothing to do with what you eat/drink its your way of thinking. Positive/negative thinking. When your thinking good things your body reponds and knows it by creating more good cells, when your thinking negative thoughts your body knows it and creates less disease fighting cells!. For one cancer can be brought on by negative thinking. What annoys me is people who are health nuts for years only to come down with cancer in their 40-50's then theirs those who drink and smoke till they hit 80 before kicking the bucket.
I would not trust bottle water or Milk ;). If you go by this guys advice :DL

70 and no pills here.
I know I am lucky, but on the other hand, stopped smoking in 1965 and , an aple a day keeps the doctor away.:yeah:
Well, I don't take any meds, but, I do toke every day tho. (since around 1993) And, I drink almost every night as well. I guess thats why I don't need meds. Yet. :D
Oh, and two strong pots of coffee for each passing day as well.

Other than vitamins and occasionally an aspirin, not much.

The last time I walked in a doctors office for myself was about 4-5 years ago. I don't take drugs, I don't do drugs (of the illegal kind)
If I have a pounding headache I take an aspirin. Other than that, I rely on my normal bodily functions to keep me in order. Us humans are the result of thousands of years of immune development among other things. I think that by now we can handle most things on our own.
I have friends losing their butts over an emergency room visit, that has nothing emergency about it (I think a real emergency visit consists of broken bones, heart trauma, and other things usually involving lots of blood) when I am encountered with a similar situation I let things work themselves out at home
But then, I have a heritage consisting of Mountain Men, Swedish, and far north Italian, I suppose it's in the genes.
