Add your story below :woot:

.............................

My wife and i went to the in laws house where the family reunion on her side was being held. Linked up with some of our very own soldiers and played some games on the wii, card games, had a bunch of beers.

Then we headed out to a local park where all the baseball and soccer (football) fields were opened up to the general public for setting up chairs, blankets etc.

There we tossed the pigskin until it got dark. i wondered at 5am why my arm hurt... then it dawned on me; 31 year old playing quarterback for a bunch of 12 - 20 year olds. Though im a defense man myself, i understand the passing game well... and i must say its amazing the pass rush a group of 13 year olds bring

After dark we settled in for the massive fireworks show put on partly by the city. Lasted about 45 minutes. Then we sort of all headed our separate ways.

lots of fun.

Lets see...

I urinated blood with large clots about 25 times yesterday (felt like I was pissing razorblades) and screamed in sheer agony all while being doped up on hydrocodone 10-650 and UTA capsules. Had a kidney stone last Monday and tried to pass it but it was pronged and it got stuck in my urinary tract (HURT LIKE A __FILL IN THE BLANK__!!!!). It was only 3mm but to a guy it might as well been a football coated in spines!

Eventually, I had to have surgery which went well but it left a stint with a very irritating string hanging out of my manhood (it's sort of cool because it comes out when I pee and then goes back in about a minute later) to be pulled out by the doctor sometime tomorrow.

In a way, I'm horrified since they won't knock me out when they pull this thing out, but it's so uncomfortable to have it in, I'm just about on the verge of pulling it out myself. So yeah, it's been an eventful 4th I'd say. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but at least I haven't had to go back to work for over a week.

The pain was so intense I threw-up until I passed out about 5 times when I had the stone in me. I was begging the rescue squad to shoot me on the way to the hospital. I had to spend 2 hours in sheer hell in the triage center of the hospital without any pain medicine at all until they could cat-scan and x-ray me to figure out what was wrong. No matter which way I rolled around on the bed I was in pain. I eventually settled for the fetal position before throwing up and passing out!

I'm convinced that it's THE WORST pain anybody could ever go through. Even women have said they'd rather go into full blown child labor naturally then to have to pass another stone. The way I see it - Women want to have kids - NOBODY wants a stone!

Besides, my wife just had our first boy about 3 weeks ago and she got the benefit of actually having a kid out of all her misery. All I got was a rock! On the bright side, somebody sent me some flowers and a balloon that said, "It's a STONE!!!" It was hilarious but it hurt too much to laugh. :woot::wah:

Makes me feel bad to say I spent most of the day on Lake Texoma with my dad and my little sister. It was a beautiful day for sailing, though. We anchored off one of the islands to watch the fireworks show and light a few of our own before going back to the marina for the dock party.

If it makes you feel better, I didn't get any beer at the party (babysitting) and we ran aground twice(shoulders still aching from rocking the boat off sandbars). We also broke our jib furler in big gust:cry:

UPDATE:

Just got back from the doc's office and had my stent removed. My pecker burns a bit when I pee, but I feel like a new man overall and feel soooo friggin relieved! :sunny:

I'm just so glad that it's over! I might be peeing blood and clots for a few more days, maybe a week, but I can deal with that. My blood is discolored anyways because of the UTA drugs I'm taking to cleanse my kidneys. Looks like a dark green/turquoise/alien blood color. So it's cool to look at in the potty and helps bypass the image of normal blood and the reality of it all which makes me want to pass out.

Did it hurt when I had the stent removed? Yeah, but it was real quick. He stuck some sort of contraption down my pecker and dropped a long metal cord down it that had a small hook. The hook grabbed the string I mentioned earlier and with a very quick tug, he ripped the stent out of me. Burned real bad for a second or two and that was it. Then I got a shot of something in my butt and got some pills to take to help relieve some of the pissing razor blades feeling I'm going to have to endure for a few days.

Anyways, I just had to ask the female nurse in there with the doc during the procedure what she thought of my you-know-what. I was like, you see a lot of these things come in here right? She said several time a day - everyday with a cute smile! So before I really asked her anything she knew what I was going to ask and she said mine was the "perfect size"! :yeah:

I mean, I just wanted to know if my wife had just been flattering me for the last 10 years! :rotfl2:

Mmmm-hmmm...

Hadn't ever tried fish with a vinegar of any kind though. :hmmm:

I never liked tartar sauce so once I learned to put lemon on fish that was my favorite when I could get it... until malt vinegar.

My dad learned to eat fish'n'chips with malt vinegar in England during the war but we never had it around here, until an "Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips" place opened up nearby. They had malt vinegar in little packets like fast food ketchup. I tried it because he was using it and OMG I loved it.

They closed down after a bit but most of the fast food fish places here still have it on the condiment stand. And the int'l market here carries bottles of it imported from the UK (and maybe other places, altho I haven't looked for it outside the UK aisles). I imagine it's way better than what comes in thost l'il fast food packets.

Maybe some of the Brits here could recommend a preferred brand?

I don't know if it's just a case of "grumble grumble things were better in the olds days" but it seems like AT's was soooo much better than what's around now. Long John Silver's and Captain D's is what we have here.

Even LJS doesn't seem as good as it used to be, I worked in one for a couple years just out of high school and I remember it being much better back then than it is now.

When I was living in Holland alone I'd fly home every second weekend and take a dozen bottles of tartar sauce back for the cloggies, they loved the stuff.

As for malt vinegar, there are many brands available here in the UK but the Buna household prefer Sarsan's.

Pickled herring:up: I usually get some during the New Year celebration.

I was at my sister's house watching one of those "guy travels around the world and tries weird food" shows. They were somewhere in Northern Europe - Amsterdam maybe? - and were out in the morning with their local guide buying pickled herring from some stand in a market.

The local dude mentioned that they were considered a good "cure" for a morning-after hangover by the Dutch/Germans etc.

My sister looks at her husband and says, "THAT'S why your parents always wanted pickled fish for breakfast on New Year's Day!"
