This mod (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1522) by aanker will add the island to the map, and also will add the model for the island to make it visible in-game.

Be sure to read the readme file because this is not a totally user free install- you will need to add the location to the campaign_loc.mis file manually for TMO for it to work. An easy addition is all explained in this thread. (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=160734)

Pics too!

No need. It is already included in TMO 2.0.

Thats what i thought sergei. Is it labeled on nav map or do you just have to find it?

Label appears only at certain zoom levels.

OK Bubblehead1980, here is a shot of it's position on the map.
I've just about managed to get the coast of Japan in the shot at this zoom level.

Next zoom level out, it doesn't show.
I've put a handy marker there.

Thanks man, saved me some trouble on next patrol:salute:

Do you know anything about adding japanese harbor traffic in TMO? Want to add some ships so can attack places like Namkwan Harbor in campaign.Want to add traffic to cam rahn bay also.Ships at anchor etc.

I understand how to do it, found the file.Just need to know if should open the file and save it as random layer, scripted layer etc

Don't rightly know.
Maybe ask Lurker. He is the Campaign Master :DL

If the descriptions of Sofu Gan I have read are correct, It is essentially a giant "thumb" or rock sticking vertically up out of the sea. It is too small to be inhabitable, support an airfield or a harbor. It's main usefulness was as a radar target for tuning before entering Empire waters.

Glad it's in the game though!!!!!

Respectfully Submitted;

Boy every now and then I run across real gems of information being shared... thanks the information and "visuals" as Bubblehead calls em' - I will definitely be checking out Sofu Gan. I just happen to be on The coast of Japan anyway pulling a TMO 2.0 patrol.

Last night i was in a heavy storm while approaching Sofu Gan. On the bridge with the lookouts, we are scanning high and low and suddenly that big freaking rock appears outta the fog dead ahead. Hard to port and i missed it, but it was close!

Now i know how the Captain of the Titanic felt, too bad his ship didn't handle like a fleetboat!

well i looked on the map while finishing up a patrol from Fremantle and Sofu Gan is NOT labeled in my install of 2.0.Only thing I can think of is my Truk Harbor mod maybe wrote over the files since it makes changes to the .loc or whatever it is, but dont see why truk would mess with sofu gan.Next patrol is out of pearl and off coast of japan so will check it out.A cool addition I want to see.Wonder if the new radar mod would pick up sofu gan as would in RL? should be interesting.

That's what has caused it to not be in your game.
The Campaign LOC file for TMO includes the entry that places Sofu Gan and defines its position.
Now you've overwritten it with the Truk Harbour Campaign LOC file (which obviously does not have a Sofu Gan reference).

Try adding the edit found in this thread to your Truk Campaign LOC file
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=160734

You should already have the Sofu Gan DAT and Texture files as part of your TMO 2.0 install, so just the LOC edit should be enough to fix it for you.
