View Full Version : Post your campaign statistics here!

This may not appeal to everyone but I would like to begin a thread so that we have a place to display our campaign statistics. Not all of us play campaigns,by that I mean,NEVER reloading a game when a career ends, always playing dead is dead, and keeping a record of ALL your tonnage from previous careers showing your particular contribution to the war,and if a career should end in say Jan 1940 your next career would start in Feb 1940 and you continue this method right through to the end of the war.
Ideally we dont want too much detail here, that is what your patrol reports are for (there is one or two threads already for that),I will show you what sort of information to include, and please, try and keep it in this order -
CAREER NUMBER - ie,3rd career
CAPTAIN'S NAME -
U-BOAT NUMBER -
U-BOAT TYPE -
PATROL NUMBER - ie,1st patrol
CURRENT DATE -
PATROL DETAILS - just a brief description of your current activity and whereabouts,eg,enroute to BF##,returning from BF##,and so on
CURRENT PATROL TONNAGE -
CURRENT CAREER TONNAGE - totals of your career's patrols so far
CURRENT CAMPAIGN TONNAGE - totals for all your careers so far in the campaign.Special notes can be included for sinkings of capitol ships.
U-BOAT LOSSES - yes, that means 'dead is dead,NO RELOADS!' and also those careers that for some reason fail to load, simply put 'LOST AT SEA FOR UNKNOWN REASONS' ,and begin a new career, harsh yes,but it adds extra flavour to your campaign, sudden disappearances at sea were rare and hopefully so are corrupt careers :nope:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I dont expect everyone to contribute to this thread but it WILL enable us to see who plays their campaigns hardcore, and more importantly, who plays using the fabled 'dead is dead' policy :arrgh!:
I would also like to see this being used in a dynamic fashion as much as practically possible,so each time you play the game and come back to visit the forum try and update your campaign scores for us?
I look forward to your contributions!

A slightly different approach yes,but definitely ok! good you said you will update your details as and when required.
When you get round to updating can you just edit your original report instead of creating a new one?,that way we can keep the thread somewhat organized.

and tonnage hunting
I've also started playing 'boat' careers. I use Commander to give my Kaleuns realistic career lengths and then I continue with the same boat under a new kaleun and so on until we make it to the end of the war, the boat is replaced by upgrade(and career continues with new boat) or the boat is sunk.
I'll post my details as soon as I find a minute.:salute:

DID is what we use to describe 'Dead Is Dead' meaning if you should get sunk at sea that career is over meaning you dont reload the game to try and offset the unfortunate event.
Sounds to me like you already implement DID into your careers, good job :yep:

I always thought DID was some cool secret destroyer mod. No wonder searching the forum turned out to reveal nothing.

What gives, Paul?
Don't we get a look at the details of carreers 1 and 2?
I cant find my patrol notes for those careers, all I can remember is that career 1 ended after a foolish attempt through the channel,I was spotted by a French warship who then called for assistance and 2 further British destroyers were spotted coming out of Southampton somewhere,I was then pushed under for a good 2 hours and was unable to slip through due to the depth of the water, the UBoat was finally sunk after a severe depth charging to the tower and most of the deck eventually destroying it and the crew.
Career 2 ended from a seemingly corrupt save file,I tried loading the game but it wouldnt recognize the data :nope:
You may be able to see some details if you look through the thread 'Tell us what you are upto in your current campaign' ,there may be some posts from me using the career of a Kurt Neulinger who happened to sink just under 50.000 GRT after 2 patrols.
Cheers.

I spent 10 days in DJ 15 and was low on torpedos , fuel was still OK . Desided to head south , trace the shipping lanes and hit the " CURRIENTES " in the Canary Islands for a day , for a resupply job . And from that point i'm now on Patrol 8 . Hit ship with two torpedoes but she refused to sink. Over next hour fired four more torpedoes, one impact three magnetic for no effect. Impact resulted in dud. Two magnetics passed below ship without detonating. Third magnetic prematured when almost to target. Ship was increasing speed and showed no sign of sinking. Despite 20mm machine gun noted on stern and larger deck gun on bow decided to risk gun action. Ship finally sunk after 30-40 hits. 20mm returned fire, but we suffered no damage. Fuel and food shortages required termination of patrol.
