Is there a place where I can get my hands on a much more complex manual, to help me out to play this game. The pdf manual, included in the downloadable Gold edition of SH5, is not really complex at all.

Welcome aboard. There is no manual; your best bet is to follow the threads on Subsim and check the stickeys.
I suggest your read the SHIII GWX manual.
