Heard a news story tonight. It is the 10th anniversery of the Illian Gonzalez affair.
Report has it that Fidel himself delevered a speech lamenting the oppressive americans.
Go out and google that and see what you can dig up.
I'll reveal my source later. :yeah:
So I mispelled his name.. par for the course

I would opine that before that article came out, most people had either forgotten who Elian was or never knew about him in the first place. :yep:

Always wondered, does anybody think that the Elian Gonzalez - incident was one of the biggest factors in getting Bush in the white house? Remember how even Florida was. I remember the Florida Cubans fuming with anger after the case and saying "we have the electorates to decide who goes into the white house". I guess they did.
But then again, was Bush really anti-Cuba? Not really, more just a general ****-up.

Well anyhow the 'source' is radio free Cuba 'RFC' 6,000khz (49 meter band).
The shortwave bands is the only place I heard this story.

I was in Miami at the time and it was pretty ugly.
But really I was more supprised to hear of Castro's apparent good health.
Last I heard he was near death and his brother was the figurehead.
OH... LOL almost forgot there was a short news story about how BP was spreading chemicals on the surface of the spill to lessen the appearance of oil "Out of sight out of mind" was the tagline. ;)
Sure there wasn't a guy standing behind him with some strings... :hmmm:

Funny is that Radio Free China (RFC) had the same story about BP 'covering up' the oil.
I guess they all use the same news feed :har:
Yea the bands were wide open last night had alot of fun.

Too bad Fidel is still alive. Did you know he urged the Soviets to attack us with NUCLEAR weapons during the Cuban Missile Crisis? Eff him!!!!

You know I dont remember that part.
I remember Fidel allowing the USSR to park missles on the island, the US saw that as and aggressive act and reacted accordingly.
Fourtnatly at the time we had a very competent man at the helm.
But I do not remember Fidel 'urged' the USSR rather I think he was soiling his breeches.

What possible benefit to Fidel would that have been? Think about it.
