Just fired my game up after a month away from SH3 and copied my old career folder (from an external drive) into the main career directory and for some reason the game is not recognizing my old career, the name is there but the 2 patrols I completed are not.
Now I am certain when I last copied the files to my external drive the folder's integrity was intact as I recopied them back to the SH3 career location and the career was recognized.
Now I am forced to start with a new career starting in the month of December 39 which is where the last career was saved,I may even jumpstart straight to 1940,no major changes are to be expected afaik.
I think we should now consign poor Kurt Neulinger of U-48 as 'lost at sea for unknown reason'
...oh well

All I know is ,is that the career wasnt being recognized in game, the profile name was there but the actual saved game wasnt, even stranger is that Commander still recognizes the sinkings I had achieved in the 2 patrols I did with U-48.
Not to worry,I have simply started a new career starting in Jan 1940 (U-48's career ended on Dec 18th 1939),only this time I am going to make absolutely certain that all the career data is safely transferred to my external hard drive before removing the game.I suspect 'I' may be at fault here failing to make sure all data was clean and safely transferred before uninstalling.I also notice there is a yellow folder inside the career folder (containing the patrols data),only the copy on my external hard drive was missing leaving only the crew details etc.

Kurt's family and close friends have been notified of the U-Boat's phantom disappearance at sea, maybe they sailed into a vortex? much like the Bermuda Triangle! :o:dead:

Just change the name of folder that is your commanders name. Just add a character or something. Whenever you finish the patrol you can correct it back to the original name. (Or so I was told, I'm still on patrol myself) It's a weird one, but it's a known SH3 bug.

It should be something like this:
(this is where the 2nd patrol files are saved)

C:\Users\xxx\Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\Wilhel m Rollmann_\2

Notice the underscore.
