Cant Dock In Kiel

I just came back form doing a patrol (with a mission) and i ran out of torps and had no objectives given and for some redundant reason it wont let me dock at kiel. now, i selected the western approaches mission. do i ACTUALLY have to sink 100k tons of shipping before i can end my patrol? i sank like 2 freighters but ran out of torps ( i just started playing so a couple torps missed) and now i want too dock and continue but cant. kiel has the option to end patrol and im pretty sure i can use it but when i click on it, it does nothing

I could tell you it's explained in the excellent manual included with the game. But I bet your pissed-off enough already. :DL

Your home port has probably been changed. Most likely, you've been reassigned to Wilhelmshaven. What you need to do is look for a large, diamond-shaped icon with a U-boat silhouette on it. I'm not at my home computer, at the moment, so I can't make a nice screen capture of the icon to show you. Perhaps, someone else can?

Well, it's not a good closeup, but it shows the icon just below the 'e' of Kiel. This is an image reaper7 posted in the FAW section:

That blue diamond with the sub silhouette, as voss says is your home port. On your first mission out, they change your home port without telling you. It caught me out, it caught a lot of people out.

and lol yea ubisoft screwed the pooch on alot of things in this game. thats why mods are our lifeline. hell sh4 stock had, in my opinion littl problem with it. this game is gonna take a LOT of modding. i wish moderators could give me the 640/870 or /we you know that screen res so my game wont lag os dam badly, whichi s my biggest problem right now

Having shadows turned on was the biggest frame rate killer for most people. If you're running at 640x480 with everything turned off, then I'm not really sure that's a problem with the game. My PC is about 2-3 years old and ran SH4 at about 60 fps and it's capable of handling SH5. It's not really that much of a hog, unless you have a single core CPU, which the game isn't designed for.

thats the problem, i cant run it on 640x480. the lowest setting itll go is like 1024x760 or something with 60 hz. and my computer is newer with a quad corse 4 gb RAM 624Gb hard drive 3400 HD radeon or something
