View Full Version : Windows 7 home preium 32.bit
I have tried to follow the instructions in the thread about the
Silent hunter 3 v1.4b No DVD/Fixed found here ( http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=160118 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=160118) ) but I still cannot get it to run correctly. After I followed the instructions I was able to start the game and see the intro movie both video and audio was great but then when the intro movie was over I lost video and just had a black screen with audio.
Maybe SH5 will work on Win 7 home 32. bit.
I am using my plazma tv as a monitor but that should not be a problem becuase the game started find and the intro movie was perfect.
Not sure what to do next.

Greetings IVO :DL I have W7 Pro 64 bit but, it doesn't matter.
I installed SH3 in User Folder and Patched it. Then installed GWX3.0 routing it to SH3. Then ran it. Didn't bother with Starforce Removal Tool. I've never had any probs with Starforce.
If you have an ENCORE version of SH3 that's already patched and has Starforce removed. I would still, install it in User Folder.
Just my .02 worth. but, it works for me. :yep:
SH3 doesn't handle the bigger resolutions and widescreen aspect ratio's wel. Try setting your screen resolution differently, or perhaps your video driver has a scaling option to scale (the usually default resolution 1024x768) up to whatever your driver can handle.
There are also some fixed directx dll mods that circumvent the resolution issue but it has some restrictions in use, like screendumps and userinterfaces of mods that do not look right. I never used it so I can't help further here.
