ok, so im out on my second patrol as a u boat captain, but the first patrol i didnt sink anything. so i go out into the ocean about 2000 km from the aussie's coast. its a boring night, and i had made an elaborate course to search for any unsuspecting convoys. well i hadnt played in a while, and was full of myself so when i got a convoy, i dived to periscope and chased em at flank. when i realized that these merchants could outrun me, i surfaced and was 2500 m from a nice liberty cargo when something rattled the ship.i realized then that id better dive fast. not only was a liberty cargo firing, but a t3 tanker as well. they scored a VERY decent hit, and damaged bulkheads like nobody's buisness. well my repair team was completely retarted, and didnt fix ANYTHING. and i slowed down a knot. so when they were far enough i surfaced again, and my repair team STILL sat on their ass. at least i was floating. 64 hull damage and multiple bulkheads damaged wasnt gonna take me down. no sir. i started to chase after em again but they still kept firing. so i go back full and realize, hey they cant fire at me past 3500m. but I can >: )>.
so i start shelling the liberty cargo, holding my distance at standard speed, and shelled the crap out of it. it blew up twice and took a hell of alot of rounds before that WONDERFUL message appeared. "shes going down sir". so then i start working on that tanker. she took about 30 shells before she bit the dust. but she went out with a BANG.
so then i start bombarding another smaller ship from afar, and she takes up the last of my ap and quite a few HE rounds before again i realize im an idiot. the last 2 didnt have deck guns. so really i bombarded it for nothing. so i catch up to the last ship, a old british merchant ship. man o man that ship looked like it was gonna sink on its own. the deck was not very high from the water, and a lower deck was practically overflowing. but it was perfectly healthy. i tried firing a few torps, but ALL missed, cause i forgot how to set my torps on fast. so, once again i resort to my trusty deck gun. it took the last of my HE shells, and was pretty banged up, so i switch to my heavy AA (which i upgraded, thankfully) and shot just for about 5 seconds and then BOOOOOOOOOOOM she explodes to complement the going down message. a second explosion echoed to my ship as i sashayed into the sunset with my busted up sub and a bloodthirty (yet scratched) crew.
i went back to base and got the u boat award, and a nice 3k renown. i bought a medic high-rank officer with a passive healing ability and a new and cheaper alberich coating for 650. the funny thing is, if i hadnt had veered off course chasing the convoy for three hours and stayed my course, i wouldve run into an island, and never had known. :rotfl2:
