I've got a 1 Gb GTS250 and I can't get much improvement, I'm sure that it's down to the age of the game and it's as good as it's going to get! The graphics card can only do what's possible with what goes in.

I've yet to try Conus' widescreen mod which may yeild some eye candy moving up from stock 1024x768.

As usual, I could be wrong and would love to be set straight. :D

Thanks Herr
never took the age of the game in to account, so improvements may only show on new games like SH5 ?:hmmm::hmmm:
I had thought some changes to the card settings could help ?,would the way to go be to look for a Res fixs on the forum ?
thanks

the high res fix for Sh3 is excellent and I have never seen my card produce such good AA and AF in 1920x1200. It is totally 'jagee' free. using latest ATI drivers and a 4870. Card settings are maxed out with narrow tent AA.

The hi-res mod is nice, but it breaks your ability to take screen shots for most people.

I too use the hi-res mod and it does improve the graphics even at 1280x1024 which I have. As for screenshots, never had a problem, but you need to hit the "print screen" key rather than the "F" numbered key (can't remember which F number it was now) and specify where you want screenshots to be saved when you set up the mod.

Just asking but have you tried changing the Video settings in the “Main” folder

To a higher res also this improves the look of the game also if you set it to
The same as your display settings. :hmmm:

The “Main” folder can be found at –data-Cfg

I use an integrated Nvidea 8600 and what I did was opened the Nvidea control panel then just maxed everything pretty well. Looks good

:yep:

the anti aliasing bothered me at first but after afew minutes I got to like it, makes the lighting feel real. I don't even bother with that widescreen mod as I'm happy with the way my old 8600's performance. Though I just placed an order for a 4GB Sapphire Radeon 5970 Toxic, and an ASUS Rampage III so when that arrives I can slap in the I7 I bought and see what I can do. (at that point I may as well try SH5)

I was in same situation as you ,but after a while I´ts feel OK! I don`t use widescreen mod either, but the AA and AF could manage the settings easy.
