42 pages (and 3 years) of it not working for SH3 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=119555) didn't lead you to believe it won't work for SH5 either? :hmmm:

Cant see that happening as SH5 is only months old & has not even been released on budget yet and they are still selling SH3 & 4 that way. So it would probably cost a ton of money. You might have a chance with SH2 & DC but even they are still on sale on budget at the moment.

And the SH5 sourcecode is based on the 3D GDS Engine, these game engine developed by Ubisoft is used in nearly every product of Ubisoft Romania, aswell in the current project HAWX2. Ubisoft will never given intellectual property to 3rd parties.

Yes I tend to agree, although there is precedent for this: In the case of SH2/DC Neal/Subsim was permitted to hire an external developer to work on the source code replacing the faulty RTime networking code with a Direct Play solution. So who knows... If they could see a benefit to the product's sales and the right NDAs were in place.... But I think the major stumbling block as many have indicated is the enormous price of the Granny system and it's per seat/per product licensing model. Also I think Ubisoft is a lot more corporate & "professional" these days so our requests are likely to fall on deaf ears.
