While the gulf struggles with an eviromental disastor.
While the politicians grandstand and postulate blaming blame and wagging fingers in the face of BP execs. The white house focuses on.....
Cap and Trade.
President Obama has a solution to the Gulf oil spill: $7-a-gallon gas.
That's a Harvard University study's estimate of the per-gallon price of the president's global-warming agenda. And Obama made clear this week that this agenda is a part of his plan for addressing the Gulf mess.

You dont understand they evidently dont give a flying .... there going to push this legislation like it or not. Now they have a 'reason' to push the agenda further.
Look at the healthcare bill as an example.

Whell they have their new whipping boy / ATM machine of BP
Besides what money? A tax on Co2? So they are literally going to tax the air we breath.

Obviously, if anything we need more CO2 in the atmosphere.

I'm in the backyard lighting old rubber tyres and spraying pre-1990's aerosols. Save the planet!

Yeah, take THAT ozone layer!
A couple years ago it became clear that $4/gal was a critical point for most Americans. Above that, they actually consider fuel economy in cars—a % do, anyway. At this point, clearly they think it needs to be higher to get the large majority of consumers to demand more economy in vehicles—that and democrats never met a tax they didn't love.
On the plus side, it actually taxes people fairly—which is why people will scream, lol.
Downside is that it will crush any hopes for the economy rebounding. Not that long ago Obama used to mention Spain a lot as a model for green jobs, etc... doesn't mention Spain these days...

Above that they also get in the mood to toss out the party they deem to have caused it. Just ask the Republicans.

That's what I've been missing all these years: tap oil! Give it another five years and someone will start selling it in bottles. :yeah:
