I changed my game to German speech. Now every time somebody reports a speed I want to giggle. Does that make me immature?
Fart. He he.

I became immune to laughter, happiness, and humor during high school German classes. :shifty:
And, I believe it's "fahrt".... :shifty:

Okay, both of you are guilty of laughing during German u-boat speech. This is not a crime, nor is it immature, but it is a sin.
Your pennance is to watch the 5-hour version of Das Boot every day for a week.
And write 100 times: "Nothing German is ever funny!"
Well, German Television execs. contracted with Monty Python to do a German Language version of their show, which they did, believe it or not. John Cleese said the Germans said, "We have no sense of humor of our own, but we understand you do..."
They also did a skit in which the Brits used a secret weapon called "The Joke" which was so funny it caused any who heard it to die laughing. The Germans attempted their own version--which proved completely ineffective.
So Steve, you may be right. Still, fart. Makes me laugh. I thought I was above such things.

Shortest book ever written: The Complete Compendium Of German Humor.
Seriously though, the Germans do have a wonderful sense of humor.

Just as I suspected. Do these beer fahrts present a threat to our national security? :hmmm:

I always used to chuckle at the signs in front of our Post Office on base in Germany. The signs were telling you not to back up to the post office windows if you were going to leave your car running. Nicht ASSPOOF lol.....or something like that :haha:
I'm patrolling the Western Approaches. Fuel's OK. But I need to know how many km I can travel at so many farts to make sure I have enough gas to get back to base. I've run out of farts at sea before, and I tell you, it is no fun to be sitting close to home with tons of shipping to your credit and to have run completely out of farts. U-Boats later in the war had more and more farts didn't they? Culminating in the XXI which could do like 17 farts while underwater without even leaving a trail of bubbles at the surface (one might ask with George Carlin--Where did the farts go?). One shudders to think what might have happened had the Germans had that many farts at the beginning of the war.
