Help with rescue of survivors!!

I´m a newbie in SH4 (and an old player of SH3...). My SH4 is the 1.5 version plus the FOTRS 1.3 mod.

In the Midway single mission, I try to rescue the survivors of the american air attacks to the Nagumo fleet. I try to lock the aviators in the binoculars, and nothing...I can´t lock the survivors for rescue.

Am I doing something wrong or in this mission (the rescue isn´t objetive of the mission), this operation isn´t possible? (the Pacific is very cold and those poor aviators...).

You gotta get right on them then look through your binoculars, when the little life preserver lights up on the gui, press it and you will get credit.

Just to bunnyhop, do you get extra renown for capturing enemy survivors?

Just to expand on what Kylesplanet stated. When you do find the survivor the cross in the binoulars will turn red. If you are stopped or very slow and the crosshairs are red but the lifering does not light up, they are not US survivors, and you can't save them. (Which also answers Sharkbaits question, you can't 'capture' or save enemy survivors. (At least not in the stock game, can't speak for MODs.)

Point of what, having enemy survivors float around? Looks neat, I guess. I wish the floating bodies add-on worked with TMO.
