If you play STO and stil have a 10 day buddy key trial I would love to get it from you.
I tried the 'demo' which I completed in an hour or two (half hour second time through).
I know these are rare but if your sitting on one rest assured I wont waste it.
ps; Not the referral buddy key (one mission trial) thanks !
PCGamer has a trial version on their latest disc in the UK, not sure about the US. Might be worth checking out though. The UK version made the mistake of not putting the key on the Disc or Mag though so I'm waiting for them to email it out.

This is different I think, it's an actual 10 or so day trial IIRC. :yep:

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the game. I'd heard that it was a bit of a donkey, the away missions were clunky and uninspiring and the ship to ship battles weren't tactical enough.
Also the Goonswarm have left Eve for STO and were creating merry hell last I heard.

As an avid ST fan, I purchased a lifetime sub for the game before launch...now I have not played it in a long while. The fleet I was in, which had a few members, has no activity. I think the devs missed the mark on this one.

As a Star Trek fan myself, this looks very childish and arcade like.:nope:
It may be fun just to try it out for a laugh! :03:

I bought it and found that what it done coudl VERY easily be accomplished in an offline game. Very few missions had any other human interaction, so much so it seemed like the Massively Multiplayer part was an after thought!
I've stopped playing after reaching Rear Admiral 2 as I simply got bored of repeating the same missions over and over again until another story one opened up.
I had much more fun playing just myself with my Bridge Crew, when humans came along it was more of a non controllable AI than a human player since co-operation wasn't there and wasn't really needed: run around like lemmings completing the repetitive objectives until the mission in accomplished.

Yeah as I understand it (and I only caught the Chinese whispers as I was in Minmatar space and thus far far away from it) The CEO of the Goons forgot to pay their bills before going on holiday. This led to all their ships , arms etc being impounded and absolutely everyone attacking.
Goons gave the CEO crap for the mistake, CEO sells off everything and gives the Isk to charity (we are talking a lot of money given to the Haiti fund here) then leaves the game for good.
Goons in Eve - no more, well there are some splinter groups but nothing like before.
Jumpgate Evolution? Still awaiting a release date as I understand it

First BOB, now Goonswarm?
The whole thing is crumbling, it seems...
Should really get back to playing that.

It's the nature of the game - exactly how Eve is supposed to work.
