No explosions/damage after installing GWX

Allright, so yesterday I installed GXW 3.0 onto my SH3. And boy am i glad with the changes.
There is just one problem. Since i'v installed GWX I can still sink ships etc. Only there is no ' splash ' when a torpedo hits, and no visible damage whatsoever. No fires, no oil slicks, no explosions. Plain nothing. I just see the dark impact zone where the torpedo made contact, but that's it.

Any ideas what's happening and how do I fix it?

First I'd like to buy an "e"... :DL

Did you install GWX on a brand new SH3 installation or did you play and/or even mod the installation before?

I'd suggest to try a complete clean reinstall anyway.
