So other than a slightly faster dive time, what is the advantage to upgrading the VII to later variants of VII? Looks like you get the same number of torpedoes - why bother?

As I understand it, with the exception of some of the flak upgrades to your superstructure, all the other upgrades are also available for the VIIb.

I used to be as well but then I jumped in a VIIB and haven't looked back since, those thing can get amazing mileage at 8 knots and are alot more manouverable at depth
Diving time is what keeps me in a VII\C.

The ViiC had more fuel. Thats about it. Slightly slower and larger dive time because of the fuel. Thats the only real information I could dig up.

Longer operational radius and a few flak upgrades.

VII\C is 3 seconds faster according to the game.
30 seconds for a VII\B and 27 seconds for a VII\C.
