I was patrolling on my good career, who has had 700K tons under his belt with 90% realism after 21 patrols, and my last patrol, I encountered the HMS Prince of Wales. It was being escorted across the atlantic by 3 ships. was this realistic?

You have 21 patrols and 700,000 tons, and you're asking about realism? :O:

It might have been. Early in the war, the destroyer shortage was so bad that the "Rodney" sailed with no escort. I think other battleships did the same.

Also, during the Norwegian campaign several valuable British carriers including "Ark Royal", "Glorious", and "Furious" sailed with either no destroyers or not enough - this led to the "HMS Glorious" disaster on June 8, 1940. Personally, I think the British were very lucky that only "Glorious" was destroyed - these ships made MULTIPLE runs with poor escort.

HMS Glorious was accompanied by the destroyers Acasta and Ardent when she was sunk (as were the destroyers also)....but your right "not enough".

Hell, if I find a capital ship while patrolling, I'm sinking it, no questions asked.

I have 185K capital ship tons, and 510K merchant ship tons. I just get lucky with convoy attacks in bad weather. I've had more than 1 situation where I shoot at a small merchant, and hits another ship behind it in bad weather. That usually turns out to be a tanker of some sorts. Also because of that, I've sunk more than a few Neutrals... but who's counting those?

Ha after looking up the Prince of Wales on wikipedia, she arrived at newfoundland on August 10th, 1941, with no one other than churchill as a passenger. I sunk her, as she was going west at fast, on August 4th, 1941. I just killed the British prime minister :yeah:

Well, i think the british will be a little bit more mad at you then me for what i did once. Sunk a few tribals before war started, then docked at the harbor they were in...

But as far as realisim goes, this is probably correct.
