OK fellas, this is the epic fail.

My gaming computer crashed and all my synchronised saves are on it. I used the HP recovery and all is gone. My last bit of hope was the online saves. I was at Mare Nostrum, all small crosses finished. WTF?? Failed to download saved games?

Are you ****en kidding me?? after all the hardwork?? New career?? Hell ****en NO!!!! NO!!! NO!!! and a big ***ed NO once more!!!! what are we?? slaves??

Any ideas fellas?? sorry for the tone.. I am just furious to the :damn: point.. I wanna bash Ubi on the head :shifty::shifty:..

OMG not again please help ppl. My last synched game had all small crosses Mare Nostrum.

This is NOT my gaming laptop, it's the old machine I had before the laptop, which to my amazement, happens to run SH5 better (AGP 1 Gb HD4650) unbelievable..

Man - I really feel for you, been in a simlar postion with another game after my old PC crashed so I have a pretty good idea how you are feeling right now.

What I did was move on to another game , forget the one I lost and that way when I came back it was like doing it for the first time again.

I can't think of anything to say that will make you feel better - hope you get your machine sorted soon.

Thanks man.. Really appreciate your support. The funny part is, the online log still has record of my last save and my last kill, with the captain name..:har:

Arghh.. what the hell, beer will sort it out:up:

Here is to everyone who had a similar 'incident':

To every sailor who ubi shared in loss of his kills and caused him negative karma with the Kriegsmarine..

So much for UBI's positive spin on DRM - all games saved offline :nope:, whats the point of them saving offline if they don't work :haha:.

Have you tried a recovery application commandosolo2009. I have recovered stuff from formated drives using 'em.

^^

Good point. They work pretty well if the data was lost recently. :salute:

Thanks for all the patting folksl. I'm touched .

Well, I still will not play it from scratch.. Instead, I'll wait for my gaming laptop to recover.. and a fresh copy of vista 32 becomes ready, then I'll look for my online saves... I'll also try the ppl from SH5 forum at Ubi, someone they might recommend, or even help me troubleshoot this..

If all else fails, I'll resort to playing it from scratch. But I will not give up now *fingers crossed*.

Again, folks I really appreciate your support. Good hunting fellas.:yeah::salute:

Always backup your save files to an external drive or pen. I've been doing this since I lost an entire computer worth of saves (all my games basically) a few years back, and it's definitely a real life saver if your PC goes belly up unexpectedly.

The cost of an external USB Drive is nothing now days.
I use several.
One for common file storage and another for Ghosting.

OK, ubi forum is behaving gay (as expected) so, to cut it short folks, which files do I need to copy over the flash drive (I happen to have 3 of them but they constantly corrupt saved files on them..maybe I could use DVD or another media..). I meant which save files, which would avert such crisis in the forseeable future?

Good thing I'm playing ARMA 2 to cool off the anxiety and frustration. I should be blunt, we all need to file a suit vs UBI.. But thats whining over a lost cause.. Your advice is indeed appreciated folks, and this time, I'm NOT going to use Ubi retard servers.. :x

Yeah its a crock of sh*t. People have to start to fight back against IP filtering. I get sick of tying to get information and watch resources only to get blocked because I'm not physically in the USA - WTF? It really sucks speaking as a US citizen.

Anyway for those of you like me outside of ConUS and not using a military IP and are not inclined to deal with TOR servers and other highly technical leaps to subvert screening efforts I highly suggest using Hide IP. (http://www.real-hide-ip.com/)

It seems to work well and does not require any technical skill. I can watch TV shows again as well as purchase things such as media from US based website (looking at you Amazon).

You guys might want to read the Forum Rules again.

Please use language that you would use around your mother. No vulgarities, obscenities, hate speech, or foul language. Do not use *******ing w*rds with aster*cks, that's the same thing as vulgar languge. Express yourself with respect to others.
