TMO 2.0, 100 realism.January 1944 off Indochina in Singapore-Japan lanes...USS Flounder Gato out of Fremantle. After 26 days on patrol, encountered a small convoy on radar, closed in but soon had escorts closing on me at high speed once i was 5.5 miles away, they must have radar.I made a high speed run and was forced to literally run silent, run deep for two hours, but they never hade me.No APR radar detection equipment yet so assume they have radar because no way they could have spotted me.After surfacing, wnet for end around and dove ahead.Periscope observation revealed one HORAI MARU troopship escorted by two full sized DD's...a Mutsuki and Akizuki, lot of coverage for one ship in 1944, must be important.Managed to sneak in to 1700 yards from target and not get picked up by the Mutsuki leading the convoy.Fired six Mark 14's from 1700 yards, 4 hit, the last hit just below the second stack amidships at 3 feet, caused a massive explosions, mustve hit her boilers, HORAI MARU quickly sank.

Soon had an Akizuki closing in, foolishly I decided to fight him with Mark 18's from stern tubes for a down the throat shot.Just as I fired a perfect 0 shot down the throat, the DD decided to start zigging back and forth as I hit the fire button, only 650 yards away so figure I had a chance, dropped scope and went deep after two Mark 18's left tubes, no explosion of torpedos hitting targets, damn!:damn: External view disabled, really does give you that anticipation waiting and watching the stopwatch to see if youll get your hits, fun fun.

Pinging commenced and as I passed 200 feet, many depth charges exploded around me but not close enough to damage.I leveled her off at 300 feet but soon became apparent I'd have to go beyond test depth.I made it to 350 feet and was safe for a while, several impressive patterns of charges but all seemed above me.After 3 hours thought I had got away when what I believed was the Akizuki closed in fast pinging on short scale and heard many splashes.Soon I the lights flickered andheard glass breaking etc.Aft torpedo room had flooding as did engine rooms, aft torpedo got the worst of it.My excellent DC team went to work and had flooding in engine room handled but the aft torpedo room was another matter. The ship took a serious down angle by the stern requiring periods of speed to keep her from sinking too deep.Meanwhile the vicious DD's continued their runs, but missed fortunately. Finally as it seemed like had all in hand, both DD's made runs scoring more hits which collapsed my hull, the end.

I do not get killed that often but it was dumb of me to fight the DD's, when I go to test depth and silent running right after watching my fish hit, they rarely get a lock on me.Lesson learned, even though I already knew better. :damn:

Time to start a new career, blah.

wrong thread, ooops

Akizuki was the first Japanese DD that had radar by default and was proberbly the best Japanese DD of the war..and thats the one im working on to get playable.....and on that note (used translator)
