Got tipped off at Ace Of Spades website and saw this :

Worth seeing, it runs for 11:24 minutes. It is a clip from a three reel documentary made to show the the daily life of US Navy personnel.

The image quality is excellent, probably remastered or preserved and copied.
A delight to watch.

That is truly an incredible find!

Might also be worth reposting in the SH4 forums too.

Thought the dive planes on those subs were not only huge but high too. Loved it when the film said that each 14" shell fired from the Dreadnought costs $970. Imagine what it must cost to fire a naval gun now:o
