Demographics + modern missile weapons + social destabilization of Israeli society + a world not caring much for Israel's self-defence
The Lebanon war gave a first taste of things to come. The IDF no longer can trust it's nimbus to be invincible.
Laughing you can. Whether or not it is justified in the long run, is something completely different. Israel is on it's own. And in that exposed, vulnerable position, I cannot imagine how anybody could hold out for unlimited time.
I am not optimistic - in the longer time perspective. Not at all. No matter whether it is with regard to Hamas, or Hezbollah.

It's the kind of shock value that works for those who pander to masses of angry, uneducated, and hopelessly unemployed people. I kind of wish Hamas and the like would politely shuttle themselves off to the core of the Sun. They don't really do mass amounts of damage, I mean, not like a modern military can. And they spew that kind of nonsense every chance they get, which causes no end of frustration because at some point they finally do attack Israel and the whole effing blame game comes full circle again. Can't Israel just annex the Middle East and be done with it already? :har:

If you mean by that to compare the starting conditions of America with that of Israel, I do not see that comparsion working. Not with regard to ressources. Space. Demographics. Initial superiority to native culture. long-time perspective resulting from different potential natural and economic resources. Different drives and motives for going to the foreign place. Plus the Indians were not Muslim, nor was King George of the robust type like Muhammad.
It just does not compare. Almost everything was different from the beginning on.

Agreed. What the heck is a curbstomb, btw? *dashes off to the dictionary*
[EDIT] Or did you mean a curbstomp?

Yet oddly enough, a modern military has stated it must blockade their place of origin to protect its people...:nope:

Yeah, you do bring up a good point there. Squeeze hard enough and people are bound to cry for justice. I'll keep my previous thoughts posted, no sense erasing a mistake. :-? Thanks for joggling my brain, Stealth Hunter. :)

You don't need a modern military to hurt another country's population :hmmm:

Israel has long been forced into a position of survival and have managed very well thus far.
I honestly don't see the tables being turned any time soon.

Can't do much damage is not the same as can't do any damage. How high would the body count have to be before you felt justified in responding?

You can basically say the same thing about Iran and sanctions though.

True. Some new sanctions going into place or being voted on today, if I read the C-SPAN ticker correctly. Iran just keeps tinkering away at its nuclear program as if nothing happened.

TEHRAN/DUSHANBE (Reuters) – Iran dismissed new U.N. sanctions on Wednesday as "valueless," vowed to continue its nuclear work and warned it may reduce cooperation with the United Nations nuclear agency.

Now I am sure this man will listen to reason.

Prophets at least real ones now work for private parties so this one must be false. :D
Well they work for God Almighty but they approach individuals personally(of actually going to the person whom they ought to give service to wherever this person might be) instead of declaring their prophecy out in public as far as I know at least that's how I experienced it.
Seriously a real prophet handed me a prophecy regarding myself about 12 years ago and what he said all happened 4 years later. It wasn't a guess or approximation or estimate or anything vague. The man knew everything about me even what dream I was going to have 4 years later. The things which I said in my mind 4 years later and the situation I would be in, etc.
It made such a big impact on me that I stopped reading and believing astrology altogether . . .that now I look in disgust and kid and laugh at every prophecy or prediction put out into the public domain through tv, internet or even newspaper or Hollywood flicks.
Later on I found out he's a renown Charismatic Catholic priest of Carmelite order. I try to go to his Charismatic meetings that they call adoration whenever I could. He must have good connection too as they are usually held in the ballroom of a 5 star hotel.:DL
Real prophets make the Oracle in the movie Matrix feels lame.:rotfl2:and make govt employed psychic spies look like children.
