I am playing with GWX and Mep 20km enviroment MODS. I have visual sensors for MEP V3 for GWX enabled also. My problem is that if I am cruising an area like the Irish sea at night I seem to be getting attacked by lone destroyers as soon as I detect them visually. During the day I seem to see them way in advance so I can either avoid them or set up an attack. I am playing in Jul 1941 at 100% realism. I am wondering if the ASW vessels are starting to get some kind of short range radar or if their is land based radar in this area that gives me away. Also if not that, could it be a sensor setting issue with the MOD or using too high of a time compression. My deck watch are very experienced and usually detect things when I can barely see them. Anyone with a similar problem? I am actually hoping everyone will tell me this is just the way the game gets around that time period in the war because it does make things challenging.

After I posted this I found some more fixes for MEP. Will try that. Guess I should read the whole thread about a MOD next time.

There is excellent documentation with GWX too. Perhaps you can find out if 1941 British escorts had radar.

I'd also check the lookouts. One of them might be smoking!
