I have been wondering for a while now it the volume control knob for the hydrophone works in GWX3. It worked just fine in stock but when I use it manually I can't seem to adjust the volume anymore.

Also is there anysort of mod to be able to adjust the Gramaphone volume?

You should be able to check with your own engine noise. It should show a pop-up when you hover over it with your mouse.

One click Vasily, ...one click only! ;)

Click on the lower right of the volume knob, it has two higher volume settings.

For music go into the sounds section on the options screen.

I tried it with GWX3 and it seems to work, though there appear to be only two settings :)

Well it's not my intention to argue over detail but trust me there is the default, then two higher settings :DL

Allright, I used to think there were 2 levels, then later couldn't tell the difference in the sound so I thought there was only one level. If you are sure, then it's 2 clicks Vasily ;)

I sure can't find more than 2 levels. If you click on the lower half of the knob, you get low volume. On the upper half, you get high volume. I've held down the mouse and moved it all over that dial, and if there's a third volume, I can't find it.

It may be that it starts at medium volume after the game is loaded, but I didn't test for this possibility.

If there's a way to get three different volumes, could you tell us what it is?

With my sound options almost maxed out and headphones on I'm hearing two incremental increases....the difference/differentiation could be down to the default starting point I suppose.

What I've never done is turn the volume lower at the start.

It's possible I've a mod that sets the default starting volume at low :hmmm:

Are you able to get back to the default starting value?

It's probably a moot point, as I'll generally only use the highest volume, then adjust the volume control on the headphones to lower it if necessary.

Have you found any advantage to using a lower volume?

I wasn't even aware of the Hydrophone volume!!! Once again another inadvertant helpful hint from this fabulous forum.

You can commence the game from whatever sound level you prefer on each booting of the game.

My experience tells me it's far better on the higher volume setting, especially for thos screw noises not yet loud enough for the crewman to report on.
