They're really coming on with that quad-rotor idea.

New UAV drone series in the making there for sure. :yep:

Also look at all the other micro UAV stuff that is listed. I'm not a paranoid nut but it does make you wonder.

I remember seeing the more techie oriented students making those things and then flying them outside. The things flew but weren't quite as 'aggressive' and precise as that thing in the video. This was some time ago.

Did you not notice the 'autonomis' part?

Well "autonomous flight" hardly means "evil A.I. about destroy us all".

Or at least I hope it doesn't...:hmmm:

There's a lot he does not notice, like his penis. :yep:

I dont know how to put this, so I just say it straight, I LOVE YOU! [insert cutesy smiliies here]. You are so.. so... different... all my other one's been sane and aware of the world around them... but you, you are so different! *sigh*

I totally had a vision of these things flying around cities taking pictures of people at random like the drones in Half Life 2.

And then they flash you with a giant light and run into you over and over again with their razor-rotors.

Which is more disturbing this or the penis tack or this.

Untill I see a increase of Cybernetic infiltrators disguised as a muscled person that has a Austrian accent I don't worry.:DL

of course, the robot itself is not evil, it is the man who employs it who is evil.

Wont be long before these have high explosive frag grenades or even "flash bangs" carried precisely into a room via a shot out or opened window or doorway.

Picture the possibility.

You have a room full of criminals who have taken hostages, this thing flies in through a sky light and explodes a stun grenade.

on the other end of the spectrum you have a crowded market... this thing flies in from a mile away on a pre-programmed GPS route with a high explosive shrapnel bomb... :nope:

by the time it explodes, your perps would be miles away

Oh yea, that could be done effectively already today. Just make that thing a bit more quiet and mount a camera system and a grenade shooter - system. A lot quicker then a purely joystick driven system. A bit like those things in Minority report.

It's the other side of the spectrum I worry about GR....the terrorist element.

I can't see this type of technology being beyond their grasp for long.

Just make that thing a bit more quiet and ....

That is the key thing right there. A problem that may never be solved. The simple fact is when you move air (or liquids for that matter) it generates sound. It is pretty hard to fly without moving air. Even gliders make noise. :03:

The only flying thing that doesent make noise is an Owl as far as I know and it took eons of eveloution to accomplish that.
