Ladies and gentlemen, boy and girls, welcome to yet another Subsim chess thread! It is here, upon this hallowed 64-square battlefield that we seperate the men from the other men that aren't as good at chess! It's the age-old battle of Black vs. White, but without affirmative action!

Yea! This is the sport of checkmated kings, and boxed-in queens. Who amongst you has the grapes to set foot upon this savage algebraically-notated arena?

If ye be brave or foolish enough to fight, gather your army, pick your color, and issue your challenge here. Upon acceptance of a challenge, a new thread will be started by the challenger and the battle will commence. Move notation is at the discretion of the players, but if you use English notation you may be accused of being English. Tournament rules apply.

I challenge everyone's favorite pickelaubed Prussian......Skybird.:DL

Select your side, meine freund. I haven't forgotten the beating you gave me last time we matched up, and I'm lookin' for some payback. I may not win, but you're gonna know you were in a fight..........Are you game?

Which is a contradiction, because by international "tournament rules" (FIDE), English notation is banned world-wide and standard notation (short or long) is obligatory. ;) You could get disqualified in tournaments if after a match handing over a protocol with English notation or refusing to use standard notation.

I think last time you played Black, but I am not totally sure. You may take White this time, therefore.
