View Full Version : Campaign won't start
Hello!
So I bought the game and decided to give it a try now that there has been couple of patches out. The problem is that when I go to the "New Campaign" and write my name and choose difficulty, nothing happens when I press start. I mean nothing, campaign doesn't start, game doesn't crash. I can press the button 20 times but nothing happens.
Anyone else had that kind of problems?

Are you being sure to select the campaign before pressing start. You see, later on you will actually have choices, but at first it is only one. But you still have to press it first if I am remembering correctly. The campaign selection button is the illuminated one at the beginning of the flow chart.
Welcome aboard by the way:salute:
None of them are illuminated :/ All greyed out.

Firstly, Welcome aboard! :salute:
Secondly, when you get to the campaign selection screen you don't see "Total Germany" lit up?
Thirdly, how do you feel about numbered lists?
Fourthly, had you finished the tutorial mission yet?
Fifthly, "fifthly" is so hard to pronounce.
Thank you for welcomes =)
Nope no "Total Germany" lit up.
Numbered lists are a bit annoying.
No haven't seen any Tutorial Missions anywhere.
It is.

I swear there must be something simple here that we are missing.
I've got Vista, bought it on steam and got couple of mods running. Altough I tried without mods too. It seems to try to update .Net Framework everytime I launch it (it even says that because its a first time installation)

I know basically nothing about Steam. However, I know that when you install the game from disk, it goes through the .Net Framework installation. Are you sure that you installed it properly, and have gone through the whole online registration thing with Ubi?
kylania, do you know anything about how the Steam version works?

Found the thread I was thinking about:
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1121062387/m/1481089458
Unfortunately neither of the two people having the problem posted if they got it fixed.
For Steam you might try running it directly from the game install rather than starting it via the Steam front end.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Silent Hunter 5\sh5.exe or something similar.
I installed .NET Framework manually but it didn't help :/ tbh I have no idea what to do anymore.

Um, Silent hunter V isn't even available on Steam? Not in Europe at least, where abouts do you live?
In Finland and yes it's available. Check Simulation genre, it's on the frontpage
Re-installing got it solved =)
