Hi!

I have 1.2 installed, latest drivers and all that... also I do have a config that should run SH5 without ANY problems:

AMD Phenom II X4, 4 Gig Corsair Dominator RAM, ATI HD5770, lots of Discspace, Win7 64 Bit.

I had some issues with particle effects. That became better after 1.2 especially the water around the boat. Fire from burning enemy ships does drop frames below ten when I go close with the camera and that is very annoying already...

BUT:

If I am on the map (!) and got to TC above 512, I drop down to below 5 frames and that is definitly unplayable. Whenever I crash into something, there is no time to react, as the game is not dropping back to TC 1 by pressing Shift and "-"... at least not by the first try. Sometimes I have to hammer on the button for seconds (5-10) and then anything is too late (hello, Savegame!). Does anyone has the same? It ruins the game for me completly!!!

I have already installed Catalyst 10.5 without any success. I have completly disabled shadows, but it didn't help a bit.

This is really a pain!

Ummmm :hmmm:

Thats very strange, because my computer specs are no where near as good as yours and i get 20 - 60 fps. I've never experianced any lag.
In version 1.1.5 i used to get sea spray and explosion lag but only in the animation not of the mouse and UI. And that was fixed in patch 1.2

My specs :-

Athlon 64 3500+ (single core CPU)
Radeon HD4870 (1gb gddr5)
4gb RAM
windows XP pro. 32bit

Screen Resolution = 1280 x 1024

I run the game with all settings on max, except AA which is on x4.

Do you have any other software running, while playing SH5?

I have my standard running:

- Fraps
- Avira (Anti-Virus)
- Tuneup-Utilities (Turbo Mode for Games)
- Catalyst Control Center
- Mousedriver (Logitech G5)
- Keyboarddrivers (and Apps) (Logitech G15)

1280x1024 (Samsung SyncMaster 940BF Native)
I can think of nothing more now...
I have tried to increase Priority of the process and I have the subjective feeling it gets better, but still there are drops to very low values occasionaly. I simply do not understand where this comes from.

Any suggestion is appreciated!

EDIT: Oh, I forgot some Miniapplications on the Desktop (Networkmeter, CPU-Meter)... I already disabled those...

Did you install Directx 9.0c during the install? That's not loaded standard on Win7 machines.

Also, try clicking the little 1x TC button in the top right corner to drop out of TC. That often works instantly while pressing the key map for 1x TC is lagged.

Oh, no I did not install any DirectX... I will try this! And the button for TC1 is not an option, because with 1-2 frames the mouse is not controllable any longer... Thats the reason why I rely on the keyboard for that...

I thought that the DX11 from Win7 would somewhat include DX9c... No?
