Still kind of questionable though.
The reference to 'porkies' was meant to refer to the type of meat you get from a pig and tie in with a jovial swipe at the Russians lying or boasting about whatever they can.
'Pork pies' in the UK is often used as slang for 'telling lies'. :DL
