Does anyone know what determines if a lifeboat will have japs aboard when you sink a ship? I have noticed that sometimes they are in the lifeboat and sometimes its just an empty lifeboat.

At first i thought it was determined by how fast the ship sunk, but i just sank a tanker and it took several minutes to sink, but the lifeboats were empty. Its no big deal, just something i have been wondering about for awhile.

It seems to me that early in the war I would always see lifeboats with japs in them. Lately though one ship after another is sunk and no lifeboats at all. So I've been wondering about this too.

If I venture to guess the survivors would be some percentage of the crew compliment dependent on the cargo hazard. Tankers have a small crew with a high hazard cargo.

Yea, sort of strange. I've sunk the Yamato and had a few lifeboats and once saw over 50 lifeboats... seems ramdom. Usually when you get the sunk message and life boats spawn, if the ship then later blows most life boats will blow. You may still see them floating, but the men are gone.
I don't think they sink, just vanish.
