New British defence minster Liam Fox put it very nicely:
...Fox said that Britain was not a “global policeman” and emphasised that the mission in Afghanistan, was about making British streets safer rather than mending the education system of a “broken 13th Century country”.
His comments are at odds with what the foreing minister had to say. However - With Labour's Miliband saying that Afghanistan was the primary reason why Labour lost the election so clearly, chances are that the new British coalition govenrment will implement more or less drastic changes to the Afghanistan policy.
Maybe also under the impression that this war costs money and that money is something that is becoming thin for Britain. (On a sidenote: I read today that Hawai has introduced the four-day week four public schools, because they cannot pay for more anymore).
